Avenir Town Center has been opening one storefront at a time since spring, and the order matters if you live nearby. Groceries came first. Then bagels and coffee. Then salads and smoothies. The restaurants you'd go to for dinner are the ones still working from "October or November," "late spring" or no date at all. As of early October 2026, western Palm Beach Gardens has a full morning and lunch routine on Northlake Boulevard. Dinner is still a drive.
Here's where each piece stands and why some of the most useful news for this part of the Gardens came out of a county commission vote.
The morning shift opened first
Publix opened at the center on May 21, 2026. Walgreens followed. In late June, WhatNow reported that the two anchors were the first businesses open at the 200,000-square-foot development at Northlake Boulevard and Avenir Drive.
August brought the morning. H&H Bagels, the New York bagel name, soft-opened at 12465 Northlake Blvd. on Monday, Aug. 17 and held its grand opening that Thursday, Aug. 20. The shop is run by franchise operators Marc Schultz and Chris Greco, and it's the third H&H in Palm Beach County. The same release set Carmela Coffee's soft opening for Friday, Aug. 21. Carmela's own locations page now lists the café at 12515 Northlake Blvd. #110 as open.
So in one week in late August, the center went from a grocery store and a pharmacy to somewhere you could stop for a bagel and a latte on the way out of the neighborhood. That's also how the center was designed to be used. WhatNow describes it as a walkable, golf cart-friendly space serving the 4,752-acre Avenir community, with shopping, dining, offices and everyday services in one place. For quick trips like coffee, bagels or a forgotten grocery item, a center built for golf carts is already working.
Lunch filled in at the end of September
Next came midday. Field of Greens, the salad, sandwich, soup, bowl, wrap, shake and smoothie spot, was set to open at Avenir on Friday, Sept. 25, according to the Palm Beach Post. The owners are Hess Musallet and Myron Miller, and the address is 12485 Northlake Blvd. That date was announced a few days ahead, so a quick call before you drive over is a good idea.
C.R. Chicks is the next lunch name on the roster. It's a Palm Beach County original, founded in 1992 and known for Brazilian oak-fired rotisserie chicken, sandwiches, wraps, salads and homemade sides. An investment group led by Jonathan Luther, Jon Luther Sr. and Dan Bowers bought the company in 2024, with co-founder Chris Sallen staying on as an advisor. The brand has seven locations around the county. The June announcement didn't include an opening date or a suite number for Avenir, and none has been published since.
Here's how the whole lineup looks as of Oct. 2, 2026:
| Business | Address | What it is | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Publix | Avenir Town Center | Grocery anchor | Open since May 21 |
| Walgreens | Avenir Town Center | Pharmacy anchor | Open |
| H&H Bagels | 12465 Northlake Blvd. | NYC-style bagels | Open since Aug. 17 |
| Carmela Coffee | 12515 Northlake Blvd. #110 | Coffee | Open since late August |
| Field of Greens | 12485 Northlake Blvd. | Salads, bowls, smoothies | Announced to open Sept. 25 |
| Tenka Sushi | 12465 Northlake Blvd., Suite 100 | Modern Asian | Targeting October or November |

| C.R. Chicks | Avenir Town Center | Rotisserie chicken | Announced; no date |
| Seppe Pizza Bar | Avenir Town Center | Pizza | On the roster; no date |
| Sloan's Ice Cream | Avenir Town Center | Ice cream | On the roster; no date |
| Venetian Nail Spa | 12525 Northlake Blvd. | Nail salon | Announced; no date |
Dinner is the part still on a target date
The bottom of that table is where the evening options are, and none of them has a firm date yet.
Tenka Sushi – Modern Asian is the closest. It's going into Suite 100 at 12465 Northlake Blvd., the same address as H&H Bagels. In late August, co-owner David Jiang said the team was aiming for October or November. The menu pulls from Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese and Malaysian cooking. If it hits that window, it'll be the center's first sit-down dinner spot.
Smoke & Maple Gastropub has been on the list longer. It's a locally owned first location co-founded by Nick Lanier, with chef Dave Schroeder, at 12325 Northlake Blvd., Suite 130. In April, it was reported to be targeting late spring 2026. That date has passed, and no new date has been announced. For now it's a tenant you can expect, not one you can book.
Seppe Pizza Bar is on Avenir's current tenant roster. Its own website currently lists only its Staten Island and Manhattan locations. Sloan's Ice Cream is also on the Avenir roster with no published opening date.
The town center's lineup has also changed since it was first announced. An October 2025 announcement named The Kitchen Restaurant, Taki Kappo Omakase and Miles Art Gallery. None of the three appears on the center's June 2026 roster. If you've been waiting for one of them since last fall, the current list doesn't include them.
Dinner still means heading east, and Northlake is staying six lanes
Until Tenka and the others open, dinner for western Gardens households means heading east on Northlake. The road you take to get there is now settled for the foreseeable future.
On Aug. 26, Palm Beach County commissioners voted 5-1 against widening the stretch of Northlake Boulevard near Avenir from six lanes to eight. Mayor Sara Baxter cast the only vote in favor, and Commissioner Bobby Powell was absent. The Palm Beach Post reported that the plan failed over two questions, its cost and whether it would actually reduce traffic, and that this was the second time commissioners had turned it down.
There's no construction zone coming between Avenir and the rest of the Gardens. The flip side is that the six lanes you drive today are the six lanes you'll keep driving. That makes every restaurant that opens inside the town center more useful, because it's one less evening trip down Northlake.
For now, two new dinner spots east of Avenir are closer to opening than anything at the center.
- Eddie & Vinny's Coastal Italian is taking over the former Prezzo space at 4520 PGA Blvd. in PGA Commons. Owners Eddie and Christina Pozzuoli of P Hospitality Group are planning seafood-forward Italian food, a wine club and live music. The most recent estimate is mid- to late October.
- El Segundo, the Mexican restaurant from Rodney Mayo's Subculture Group, is coming to Donald Ross Village. In mid-September, Stet News reported that the West Palm Beach original would "expand soon" to Palm Beach Gardens. No opening day has been announced.
Both are dinner restaurants. Both are a real drive from Avenir. They'll probably be the newest dinner options for this part of the Gardens until the town center's evening tenants open.
Errands are filling in faster than dinner
The rest of the roster leans the same way as the food. Besides the restaurants, Avenir lists Publix Liquor, ManCave for Men, deFabrique Aesthetic Dentistry, Velocity Community Credit Union, Go N Postal, Kevin James Salon, Mr. Golf Cart and Marciano Optique. Venetian Nail Spa has signed on at 12525 Northlake Blvd., though no opening date has been announced. That's a haircut, a package drop-off, a bank stop and a golf cart tune-up, all within reach of a center built for golf carts.
Health care is coming too. Avenir's August release said its Health Park broke ground in June. The plans include a neighborhood hospital, emergency services and medical offices. It's a separate project from the town center, but it points the same way: more of the everyday trips that used to mean driving down Northlake are being built a short ride from home.
One thing the town center doesn't have yet is a regular community event. The city's Gardens GreenMarket on May 10, 2026, was held at City Hall, 10500 North Military Trail. No market or recurring gathering has been announced for Avenir.
Steve and I live and work around the same roads you do. Before a showing, we ask where you'll get coffee on a Tuesday and where you'll go for dinner on a Friday, because those trips shape a home as much as the floor plan does.
